PERSONAL TRAINING IN EXETER
Since 2011, I have offered high-quality personal training to busy professionals at their homes, workplaces and other convenient locations.
From 2011 to 2020, To Be Personal Training was based in New Zealand, then it moved to Cambridge, and now it is in Exeter (for good!).

I have the experience, skills and knowledge to help you get fitter and healthier.
EXPERIENCE
I have experience working with a variety of individuals, ranging from the very unfit to sportsmen and women who represent their country.
I have worked with all ages; children through to the elderly, and also individuals with disabilities.
The majority of my clients are busy professionals (e.g. doctors, lawyers and business owners) but I have worked with individuals from all walks of life; as far apart as rehabilitated drug dealers and politicians.
MOBILE
You do not need a gym to be exceptionally fit.
Since 2011, I have trained hundreds of individuals at their homes, workplaces and in suitable public spaces.

I have a selection of equipment that allows me to deliver balanced and effective personal training in Exeter.
What is more, I practice what I preach, and I use the same equipment to train myself outside all year round.
HOME GYMS
Many of my clients have gym equipment, ranging from a few dumbbells in the garage to snazzy home gyms.
I know how to use all of this equipment effectively, and I happily incorporate it into Exeter & East Devon personal trainer sessions.
I also advise clients what equipment to buy without wasting space and money. Second hand equipment is often fantastic value for money, but other things are best bought new.
OUTDOORS
The great outdoors is full of opportunities to workout. Hills, steps, sports fields and playgrounds are great places to get fit.
What is more, many public parks now have exercise equipment, much of which is very good (although some is dreadful).

We all benefit from some exposure to the elements, and we spend too much time in air-conditioned boxes, so we train outdoors as much as possible.
When you enquire about my Exeter personal trainer services, I get back to you as soon as possible to arrange a time to talk over the phone about your goals and how I can help.
This process sometimes involves a bit of phone tag, as we're all busy people, but usually within a few days we're ready to have a good talk about how I can be of assistance.
1. INITIAL CONTACT
If we agree to commence personal trainer sessions together, I will write you a program to complete on your own outside of our sessions (if applicable). I will take you through this program to ensure you know what you are doing. We then start our regular personal training in Exeter & East Devon! I prefer to err on the side of easy to begin with because you'll probably be sore regardless. As you get fitter, sessions become harder. It's important at this stage to be open and honest with me so that I can quickly perfect your workouts.
3. REGULAR TRAINING
The first phone call is my opportunity to understand your goals and to suggest a plan, and your opportunity to ask me questions and satisfy yourself that I’m not a bit of a plonker (there are plenty of them in the health and fitness industry).
I am not pushy with sales. Instead, I prefer to work with you to develop a plan that balances the work required to meet your goals with your budget, time commitment and capacity to workout on your own.
2. LET'S TALK
I do not speak to you like a child if you are not eating well or following your program. Of course, I nudge you in the right direction, but I cannot be texting you three times a day asking what you are eating for your next meal. This is important because to make positive, long-term changes to their health and fitness, you need to take responsibility for your actions and not rely on a pestering and patronising personal trainer in Exeter. I am a very useful tool to help people get fitter and healthier, but ultimately, you've got to make it happen.
4. OUR RELATIONSHIP
LET'S TALK
I am very happy to discuss your health and fitness goals and my personal training in Exeter and East Devon. This is an obligation-free opportunity for you to hear what I have to offer. I dislike pushy sales techniques so please do not worry about feeling pressured. Please just fill out the form below.
