RUNNING COACHING FOR PERFORMANCE, EFFICIENCY AND LONG-TERM PROGRESS

Running is simple — but improving requires structure and focus.

Whether your goal is to get fitter, run faster, build consistency or prepare for an event, progress comes from the right balance of training, technique, and load management.

I provide structured running coaching for individuals and athletes who want to improve performance, reduce injury risk, and train with purpose.

WHAT RUNNING COACHING INVOLVES

Running coaching focuses on developing:

  • Aerobic fitness and endurance

  • Running technique and efficiency

  • Strength and resilience

  • Structured training progression

This is not just “going for runs”.

Training is planned to ensure you improve consistently over time.

WHO IT IS FOR

I work with:

  • Individuals new to running

  • Recreational runners

  • Athletes using running as part of their sport

  • Hybrid and performance-focused clients

You do not need experience.

You need consistency and a willingness to follow a structured plan.

HOW COACHING WORKS

Running coaching is delivered through:

  • One-to-one coaching

  • Structured programming

  • Ongoing guidance and progression

Depending on your goals, you may:

  • Follow a structured plan independently

  • Combine running with strength and conditioning

  • Receive technical coaching and feedback

WHAT WE FOCUS ON

Our focus is on:

  • Building aerobic capacity

  • Improving pacing and consistency

  • Developing efficient running mechanics

  • Strength work to support running performance

  • Managing training load and recovery

The aim is to improve performance without unnecessary complexity.

WHY RUNNING COACHING MATTERS

Many runners train without structure. This often leads to stagnation, inconsistent performance, and recurring injuries.

A structured approach ensures gradual progression, better performance and reduced risk of overtraining.

WHERE I COACH

I currently offer running coaching in Exeter, Tiverton, Taunton and the surrounding towns and villages (subject to my availability).
