SPEED COACHING FOR ATHLETES, SPORTSPEOPLE AND PEOPLE WHO WANT TO MOVE BETTER

Speed is one of the most valuable—and most misunderstood—components of fitness.

It’s not just for sprinters. Improving your speed will make you:

  • More powerful

  • More efficient

  • More resilient to injury

  • More effective in sport

I’ve been coaching athletes and individuals since 2011, working with everyone from complete beginners to sportspeople competing at national and international level. My speed coaching is based on proven methods I’ve studied, observed, and applied across a wide range of environments.

I provide structured, evidence-based speed coaching for athletes, sportspeople, and general clients who want to move faster and better.

WHAT IS SPEED COACHING?

Speed coaching focuses on developing:

  • Sprint mechanics

  • Acceleration and top speed

  • Strength and power

  • Coordination and movement efficiency

It’s not just running faster — it’s learning how to move properly at speed.

Training includes:

  • Sprint drills and technique work

  • Acceleration and sprint sessions

  • Plyometrics and ballistic training

  • Strength and conditioning

All of this is planned and progressed properly—not improvised.

WHO SPEED COACHING IS FOR

I work with:

  • Track and field athletes

  • Sportspeople (football, rugby, hockey, etc.)

  • Hybrid and fitness athletes

  • Individuals who want to improve general athleticism

You do not need to be an elite athlete. You just need:

  • A willingness to work

  • A good attitude

  • Consistency

HOW SPEED COACHING WORKS

Coaching is delivered through:

  • Exeter Speed (group sessions)

  • One‑to‑one coaching (select cases)

  • Structured programming

Sessions are:

  • Planned in detail

  • Built around long-term progression

  • Adapted to your level and goals

DOES SPEED MATTER?

Why should you train for speed?

Because speed improves almost every other component of fitness. If you can move faster, you can usually:

  • Produce more power

  • React more quickly

  • Apply strength more effectively

Even small improvements in speed can have a significant impact on performance and overall fitness.

WHERE I COACH

Speed coaching is primarily delivered in:

  • Exeter

  • Tiverton

  • Taunton

  • Surrounding areas through programming and one‑to‑one sessions

The map is a guide. I sometimes train people outside of this area for a surcharge.
